I went to the track last night and the best i did was a 14.927 at 89.4 mph....
my mods are : Superchips flashpac K&N cai and flowmaster exhaust... I removed the tailgate and spare tire and i could only get a 15.5 due to sever lack of traction....so i lowered my tire pressure to 30psi and i was able to pull a 14.927 but that was with a WEAK launch at only like 1k rpm.....anymore and the tires just boil...both of them..so what tips/input do yal have that would help fix this ...This was also my first time at the track with the truck so i prolly need a little more practice..also what times do you think the truck is capable of with my mods

Do you have a good set of aftermarket headers on your setup? That would help some...

my best time is a 15.175 @ 90mph, and i have the same mods, lol, what the hell am i doing wrong? maybe its because of the launching, because everytime i mess up the launch and just floor it from idle it seems i do better than when i launch @ 2k

his is 2wd..

What are your 60ft times? I was running that time with those same mods when it was a 100degrees out side with a one wheel wonder..Also launch from idle and just roll it on quickly your tire pressure is good i would atleast put the tailgate on I couldn't get traction with out just my spare on stock 20's with those mods..Also what was the weather like? I ran a 9.3 in the 1/8th with those mods on a good day with a 2.29 60ft which is horrible that is about a 14.5 in the 1/4mile

the best 60ft i could muster was a 2.1 but then i got excited and floored it and lost a little traction Crying or Very sad .....the weather was 54 degrees all night and very dry......i think i might have to get some 17s or somthing with some drag radials.....cause the yokohamas are extremely hard i had thm down to 15 psi and they didnt even start to flatten out Rolling Eyes

Don't flatten a radial tire that much your losing time by all the drag you are creating by doing that..most guys run between 28-32psi in there street tires. The lowest i go on my drag radials is 25psi..A 2.1 is decent you can get it down to a 2.0XX with a little practice..Your times are alittle slow for the weather you had though.. thats the type i'm waiting for but it doesn't even get that cold here in the middle of the night yet..

EDIT: What all did you do for weight reduction I saw you had subs and a heavy cover also.. did you remove them?

...i didnt run the tires that low....i ran then at the psi i said at the start of the post...i took the bed cover off, tailgate off,and dropped the spare tire.... but left the subs in.....didnt have time to take them out but they will be out or the next runs..takin them out involves removing the seats and everything..That sub enclosure prolly weighs 100 pounds its WAY to heavy!!!!.....i figured it was a little slow but it was also my first time with the truck=more practice

That's still a good job for your first time at the track you'll get better the more you go out there..
