Assuming the distributor is indexed correctly, put a coil on it.

It runs fine below 3000 RPM, as if nothing is wrong? If so, I agree with the coil comment. It also could be something with the PCM.

hey guys sorry for the late response I just moved to calgary, but yes it does run fine below 3000 rpms I tried the coil, wires, plugs, cap and rotor I tried soo many things so now im thinking it must be the pcm because it ran fine earlier in the year, I bought a car so it has just been sitting....

i work at a dealership as a dodge mechanic and i would agree to take a fuel sample and make sure its not contaminated. but i have seen several times the converter stops up and causes that same problem. other than that i would normally start like this
1. check for codes in pcm
2. check plugs, wires, cap, rotor etc (which you already did)
3. check fuel pressure and fuel sample for contaminants
4. check exhaust flow for possible stopped up converter
5. check engine compression and timing advance.

let me know what you find man, good luck

The Converter and muffler would be next thing I'd check. Most of the time if its bad,its bad all the time, but backpressure will play tricks on you so I just remove them and see if it does anything.

well I tried almost everything lol The exhaust is hollow with a new muffler so that can't be the problem, I also tried a 1998 dodge ram computer and it made it do the same damm thing lol it runs fine right untill 3000 rpms and its like its hitting the rev limiter. Im runnin out of ideas lol I unhooked the fuel rail and had a another pump in a jerry can and it did the same thing so it isnt a fuel problem, I am about to set it on fire lol

I know you checked eveything else, and this may sound dumb, did you check to see if your getting air into the manifold? I'm not sure the setup in it, but just a thought if a choke plate is shut or something
