Seen a few threads about resizing. This should help out anyone looking to add an avatar to your posts. . Maybe a Mod can move this where needed and make it a Sticky?

Also, if this "Tutorial" does not help or you have any questions. here is a link with a list of members willing to assist you in your quest:

Windows XP:
1. Download and install: Microsoft Image Resizer

After installing it. There is no program to click on or any icons for this software piece. It is integrated into Microsoft. To use the add in, Follow step 2.

2. Once Installed. Right click on the photo you would like to resize:

3. A little box will open up on your screen:

4. On that window, select the custom size you would like to resize picture to. *Remember, the forums only support a max size of 150x150 and a max file size of 20kb.*

5. You will notice that it created a copy of the original picture and sized it down to a size that is usable on the forums.

6. After you have created the smaller picture. Go Here:

7. Browse to the bottom of the page and you will notice the area where you are to upload your picture as an avatar. Hit the browse Button.

8. After you selected the "Browse" button, you can then browse to the picture that you resized which is located on your PC. Select the picture then press Open.

9. It will then bring you back to the main profile page. After you are here, click "Submit" and you are on your way to having a custom avatar

If you wanted to resize multiple photos. Just either hold down control and then single left click on the mouse on each photo you want to resize. Once you selected all the files, continue with step 2.

Windows Vista:

Step 1:
Download and install VSO Image Resize Software.
Link to Download

Step 2:
Once installed. You can browse to the folder where you photos are. Right click on the selected photo and left click on VSO Image Resizer:

Step 3:
If you get the window to check for updates. You can if you would like, or you can just select no. Here is what the program looks loaded:

Step 4:
What I usually do is create a profile for VSO. To do this. Just enter a name into the Profile Box. I used "Avatar". The next section down you can select the dimensions of your photo. For this website, the max file dimension is 150x150 pixels. The max photo size is also 20kb. Filtering can be adjusted down to Medium as well as the Format percentage. Everthing else is left as default. Once you have this information in there, to the right of the Profile box is a Blue Disk. This will save your Profile so you can just choose and continue. Once complete, click "OK"

Step 5:
After a few seconds, you will get the window stating your image has been resized. Click Close to continue.

Step 6:
After you have created the smaller picture. Go Here:

Step 7:
Browse to the bottom of the page and you will notice the area where you are to upload your picture as an avatar. Hit the browse Button.

Step 8:
After you selected the "Browse" button, you can then browse to the picture that you resized which is located on your PC. Select the picture then press Open.

Step 9:
It will then bring you back to the main profile page. After you are here, click "Submit" and you are on your way to having a custom avatar

let me know if anyone has any questions. I think it is easy enough to get the hang of. Also, there are times where even if you followed the above, your avatar will still be slightly too large for your avatar. it may require you to downsize your avatar to a dimension of 120x120. This is a case by case basis.
