I was curious as to the responses I got from this thread. Seen a couple of 9 second lightnings at the track. I agree they are more on the line of our SRT10 truck but faster.

I am been thinking of buying one for a while now but I love my ram. I just wish they were faster than they are. What are some weight reduction things I can do to keep my attention on my bee before I get to lookin at lightnings again? I just wish I could hit a low 12 1/4 with my current mods and the diablo with a 150 shot but I don't know

Not trying to pi$$ on your parade but it's not likely. Look at the history of Don's truck. If it's truly the speed you may want to seriously look at other options. How about a SRT car and supercharging it?

the best platform for going down the 1/4 is something with a lightweight body and enough room for a big fat engine.

the exact reason fox body mustangs are such popular drag cars.

a truck will never be great drag racing platform for aerodynamic reasons alone.

i say enjoy these trucks for what they are...bad ass street machines Cool

I just did a quick look-see at some of the threads. Some of those guys were talking about 4000 lb vehicles in the one thread.

not sure what our 2 wheel drive trucks weigh. I think mine weighs in close to 5000 pounds from what I heard. 1000 pounds lighter is a full second difference at the track easy

Yeah John, I think I'm about 5600+ with 4WD and quad. The only thing I can run against is a wheelbarrow.

You're preachin to the choir here Mark. I feel the exact same way. I saw my GTX and that's all she wrote. I bought it out of emotion. After the fact is when I started to realize that I have a 5,000 lb. brick. I went to the track and it all started. I don't go to many shows either. It's all about the 1/4 mile for me.

add some 17's with DR's, it can and has been done. You won't need a 150 shot though it was done on a 100 shot.
