Well red ants nailed me yesterday.
Hit me more than thirty times …most of them under my left arm …in the pit.
FYI, I am extremely allergic to the red ant’s sting.
If you live as far south as we do you know what I mean when I talk about red ants.
For those of you who have not experienced them first hand, well …red ants sting you more than one time.
They dig in with their mandibles and start stinging, and then twist around to sting you in as wide a radius as they can.
Red ants are pretty small and their poison takes about a minuet or two to start kicking in.
That means they work on you a while before you know you are being visited by Mister Red ant.
Later the poison creates something akin to an acid burn.

If you are wondering how I happen to put a red ant into my armpit …yes a single red ant did all this to me, I was swimming in my pool and he found me as his nearest flotation device.

I know this has nothing to do with Rumble Bees, except that I own one, but this has definitely taken center stage in my life today.

So WATCH OUT FOR RED FIRE ANTS!!!!!

Been there, done that. Stationed in Alabama for a while. Had to do some M16 training and found myself laying in a mound. Of course, you can't exactly move during qualification. Oh I was in pain. My son stood on a mound when he was 4.. He didn't know what it was, but quickly found out.

My old neighbor found out he was allergic on accident. A few bit him and he had to be rushed to the hospital because he stopped breathing.
