Welcome to the HIVE my friend.
The only thing that I can think of is that the previous owner had it removed for some strange reason or that Chrysler lied to you.
Post some pics of your ride so we can get a better look! cool_goatee

Its doesn't make sense to me I have the Daytona inserts on the doors and a plain orange radio bezel with no number.... Thought maybe some tryd to build one, so I called Chrysler and had them fax me the build sheet and says Daytona package listed on build. Is it possible some working for a dealship could have special order this ??? As maybe all numbered trucks were already produced??

That is a good possiblity, don't hear to much on here about fake Tona's but there are a lot of Wanna-Bees though.
Ya might wanna contact Chrysler again to see if they can hook ya up with the production number.

sorry for the late reply so with working out of town and family matters heres some pics of my truck its a work in progress i ripped the front chinspoiler off due to high curbs. i have an srt 10 front bumper in the garaged roll pan and need to have the box cover and tailgate painted to match the truck. the truck got keyed awhile ago and when i had the side repainted it was 500 for new daytona decals so i never had them put back on. i plan to when i get everything painted and mount the spoiler on the cover. but heres some interior so u see about me missing the number plate. i have been on the phone with chysler canada, and at dealerships trying to get an answer. no one can answer me and i have a copy of the build sheet with it listing daytona edition. the chyrsler rep told me mine isnt a limited edition truck and its a daytona from factory with no production number. so how the hell is this possible was under the understanding there is only limited edition trucks made. he had no answer for me. is that not the reason of buying these trucks as there limited and only so many made??? seems to me some fraud is going on and i want to know how they can get away with building a daytona edition truck without production number....any one have any suggestions for me i dont no what else to do.

No, it won't list daytona number on the build sheet - the best bet is to contact someone at Chrysler/Dodge, they should be able to find what numbered edition your Daytona was based on the VIN code; when and where it rolled off the production line. "They" have all this info...it's whether or not they want to take the time to research it and give it to you.

Best of luck!

Not sure if any one has posted this up on here

I found this on one website

There were just over 10,000 Dodge Ram Daytona made. They were available in Bright Silver Metallic and Go ManGo Orange in both Single and Quad Cab with 4x2 and 4x4 versions.

Dodge no longer sets production limits for two reasons, first; if it sells, sell it and second; Dodge has had issues with Rumble Bee owners after producing a larger swarm than had been advertised and than a second swarm the next year. Since that incident, Dodge has refused to release the number of "Limited" quantities to be produced or even acknowledge said quantities post production.

And from another site

The Ram Daytona will be available with either a 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrains and in regular cab or Quad Cab body style. The regular cab will have a molded side sill while the Quad Cab includes a running board. Only two colors will be offered: Go Mango, which is a burnt orange shown in our photos, or Silver Metallic. These colors will also accent the center bezel on the dash and highlight the instrument panel. Other interior features include premium cloth seating and Daytona monograms in the headrests and floor mats.

Included in the Daytona package will be the 5.7-liter Hemi engine, 5-speed automatic transmission and 3.92:1 rear axle ratio.

“This was a cooperative effort between product planning and marketing together with the technical department,” explains Eberhart. “More and more, we actually bring Mopar Performance into the fold. In the Daytona, a lot of parts are Mopar engineered.”

Like the Rumble Bee, the Daytona will be a limited edition and feature a numbered plaque on the dash. However, Dodge officials have not set the production number. Owners of Rumble Bees have filled Internet forums with complaints that production of that limited edition exceeded the advertised 3700. However, Eberhart steadfastly denied that there was any overrun.
“We built exactly what we said we were going to build,” says Eberhart. “Otherwise you lose the draw you get with these (limited edition) vehicles.”

another website seems to have a break down of Daytonas by color & cab type

Go ManGo!
2wd Reg Cab - 954
2wd Quad Cab - 1,061
4x4 Reg Cab - 1,260
4x4 Quad Cab - 1,768
Total Go ManGo! Daytona's - 5,043

Metallic Silver
2wd Reg Cab - 660
2wd Quad Cab - 1,110
4x4 Reg Cab - 627 (Mine is # 03037)
4x4 Quad Cab - 1,258
Total Metallic Silver Daytona's - 3,655

Total Numbers of Daytona's - 8,698

about the limited edition Rumble Bee
Many Rumblebees were maybe being built by Dealerships, they were not part of the FACTORY production run, there were only 3700 2004 year models built by the factory, but, there are over 9,800 Rumblebees 2004 & 05 year models with all the proper identification. There was a law suit filed against Chrysler for doing an over run
