my front diff is making metallic nose, mechanic said the diff has issues, just wondering if anyone else has had same issues and how they fixed it. my bee has 174,000 miles 2004.

I would imagine that it needs rebuilt with that many miles behind her, and rightfully so.

Has issues is a pretty vague response for a mechanic! Can you describe the sound to us?

With that many miles, and if the sound is coming from the actual differential, I'd guess carrier bearings, and probably pinion bearings as well....
