Has anyone found a muffler that works well with the Borla exhaust that came with the Daytona's?

I am looking to change the muffler only to try and get a more deep and louder sound.

The shop I took it to recommended a Flowmaster 40.

I hate to change a perfectly good system, but I am really looking for a lot more aggressive sound.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Put in an exhaust cut out for maximum sound! Then close it when you need a quieter sound!

MagnumPower05

Did you also replace the stock Borla tips w/ resonator's or leave them on?

Also, did you notice any difference in performance? I was told I may lose a little HP and TQ, but it should not be noticeable.

Thanks

I'm curious if it's possible to just remove the resonator's from the tips and get a better sound?

Booky - I just removed the factory Borla exhaust and had the AeroTurbine 3030 and the ST3040 Aero tip installed - this is what a HEMI should sound like. The factory exhaust was just too quite for me.

There was talk about someone attempting this a while ago, not too sure of the outcome on that. I just think it would be a lot easier just to replace the tip then go through unrolling the ends of the tips to remove the res.. JMHO.

Yeah, I agree with you. My problem is I really like those tips. Smile

it is possible if you know someone who owns a TIG welder Wink I cut the tips off my truck, then cut the back end of the tips off, pulled out the resonator, removed the fiberglass from it and cut the end off that inserts into the rolled end. then I welded a piece of 3" pipe where the resonator was and inserted it back in the tip, then welded the tip back together. it took about an hour to do it

since you mentioned fiberglass..............
we used to shoot cold water up into glasspacks to "mess up/blow ouy" the fiberglass packing, it always made the glasspacks alot louder............
would this work on the borla tips?? are they exposed back inside there somewhere or was what we were doing causing some other effect on the glasspacks??? proven to change the sound on them so that's why i asked......

So Chris,

How did that help the sound of the Borla exhaust? Did it give it a better rumble?
