This is a law for California correct? I had to research it on another site.. but who is to say a specific bread of dog is dangerous? In my eye, any dog can turn on anyone.. it is all dependent of how they are handled.. IMO.. Well, that law just sucks..

That's a pit bull right? I personally hate them. They are hard to handle and with the wrong owner they are more dangerous than most other dogs. But in the right hands I think they are OK dogs. I just hate to see so many things getting banned all the time. If people want one let them get one, if the dog hurts someone prosecute the owner.

I have no use for pit bulls. I guy I know had one treated it great and it was growing up with his little son. They got along great and one day it turned on the little guy and tore his face to shreads. Almost all of the dog attacks around here are from pit bulls. That being said I don't like the government controlling our lives as much as they do. Seat belts, motorcycle helmets, smoking, drinking, and so many other things. Once we start losing freedoms it never stops.

That's my girl Zoey... She is an American Bulldog.... Not a Pit bull, but most people think she is a pit bull...

I agree with your idea prosecute the owner not the dog... That's what they do with most under age kids now.... It's not the kid that get all the blame it's the parents.... So why can't they do that with the owners....

I spent alot of time and money on my dog... She has been in obedience school and is very well trained.... You can't just put a label on this kind of dog.... and decide to get rid of them....

Is that bill for california? I have two of these dogs & biggest babies you have ever seen. In total I have had five & never a moments notice of trouble with any of them. It is the owners who inbreed or mistreat these animals when they are mean. That could go for any animal alive. Even little dogs bite too! My 4 year old pit named Sable, both of her parents were therapy dogs. Come to Evansville sometime & you can meet them both. Smile

I agree,

its the owner who should be held responsible for the dogs actions. just like we are responsible for our childs actions. If the owner chooses to buy a dog that could be agressive, they take that responsibility. I also think that if a dog proves to be agressive, you eliminate that dog BEFORE it hurts someone.

That is right, it is the owner responsibility. It is sad that the media don't make a big ordeal of other breeds of dogs biting any individual. It it is a little dog, they say how cute & how did that happen. Smile

it's the dog, not the breed. my aussie was more hyper than others i've seen. it just varies in their personality. that american bulldog is adorable, by the way. my boyfriend's roommate has one and she is a very well-behaved dog. his old roommate used to have a pit bull named tex and he was the sweetest dog ever. just depends on their personality.
