Oh come on.. gimme a break, it was my first time! Who cares if I only had my first run at 68.84 mph? LOL

Ok, before I give you the link to the video, let me give you a few minor prarticulars..

1. No one told me how far the track was from where I live - so I filled the truck up and Damn.. I had a hair over a full tank when we got there.. LOL

Ok.. screw up #1

Gotta remember that my truck is a 4X4 so I'm always gonna be just a tad slower than anyone who's only 2 wheel drive (unless they're in a quad cab.. hehehehehe)..

2. Second screw up - I didn't know where they end of the timing section was so I kinda let up a little early near the end, that's why I only got a 68 mph on the 1/4 mile.. but my 1/8 was just about 72. I'll post all 4 tags (little hard to read cause they were really light ink) after the video link..

All in all with all this against me I still did manage at least one good enough run to put down for my own fastest time until the next time we go the track - this time there'll be no tailgate, no spare, very little gas.. LOL

Here's the vid link - you'll have to wait as I'm the only Go ManGo Daytona in the video - the kid filmed 2 runs - there were 8 of us from the Hemi Truck Club California Chapter that went. The track is in Sacramento and we had one member (Lonnie) drove all the way up from San Diego to be with us - he had the fastest time .. course he was running NOx.. LOL

YouTube.com - give the video time to load, sometimes a little slow...

If anyone of you are in Calif come join us, we hope to get a lot of GTG's going by summer....

Oh.. my tags:

1st Run - I'm #112

Fastest Run

Reaction Time is better

Last Run

Nice vid Arctic! Looks like you did great. I made a lot of those same mistakes when I first started too, lots do. Now that you have the first time out under your belt you'll have even more fun in the future!
Congrats!
Cool

Thanx.. Wink

I was nervous at the lights but once we started down the track I thought:

"Hell, this ain't no different than when I get on the freeway!" LOL

only difference is that I don't let up on the gas when I hit 80! Twisted Evil

ADDED:

I tell you what Dusty..

It's one thing to watch it on TV, you can get an idea on how fast the cars are going, but it's a whole different world while you wait your turn and are standing up there at the end of the track watching the cars/trucks/semi - pro's go down the track!

Only thing you gotta remember is that when the Semi - Pro's go to spin up their tires MAKE SURE you hide behind someone standing next to you so that they get popped with the pieces of rubber and you don't! LOL

That's funny, that's exactly what I think at the lights. Laughing Laughing

I gotta find me a camera mount so that I can mount my camera up on the dash and run it when I'm making a run! Course I don't know how to edit sound so if I do - do this, I'm gonna have to post warnings maybe of language abuse! Twisted Evil

Even though there was 2 wrecks that day and we lost about 1 1/2 hours total waiting time while they cleaned them up, it was actually a lot of fun. I'm just trying to think of ways that I can come up with to make the truck a bit faster and yet not get caught and get my warrenty voided! LOL

Most - if not all - of the 7 others that came had the 6.1 ltr cam installed and valve springs, CAI, Superchips and were still running a fairly slow run.. what I mean as fairly slow is that my truck is basically stock and they weren't much more than maybe a couple mph faster than I was..

Well all except for Lonnie who was running NOx... lol

I'll have to go now that I have a BEE. I've got some buddys that race every year, but I haven't gone with them, not having anything to race. A long time ago when I had my '67 GTO I had nine trophys. Had a blast!

those are nice times for your 4x4. I think my best was 15.9x

so your truck is way faster than mine.

glad you had fun.
