UPDATE ON PAGE 3

hi guys,

as most of you know, i have a 2006 civic SI as my daily driver. when the truck was finished, though it's not done in my eyes, we decided to start upgrading the SI. this is a slow process because jesse and i both work full time and we have very little spare time to devote to working on cars or side projects. however, we're hoping to complete it by june so we can take it and the truck to a show. i thought i would start a progress thread so you can see what we're up to.

jesse is helping me, but this is my first ever project i am doing most of the work on! Smile

unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago i got a serious flat tire. it was an excuse for some good ones, so i got a set of falken fk 542's and absolutely love them. here's the car up on the jack stands, all clean and waiting for new soles for the shoes.

close shot of the new tires

the car as it looks now. when the front end was repainted due to a factory paint flaw, we took apart the headlights and painted some of the orange reflectors black. still thinking about removing the amber reflector on the side, but not sure yet.

step one was to take our existing molds from when we originally started several months ago and add more fiberglass.

next, i cut out the bottoms of the molds so we could attach them to an MDF false floor.

jesse and i routered out the rings for my Image Dynamics IDQ 12" woofers and then attached them to the completed skeletons.

this weekend, we finally got to work on the car some more. i took off the door panels and took apart the arm rests and door inserts. jesse cut out the factory speaker grills to make room for the CDT Audio HD 6.5" speakers.

after reupholstering the inserts in Katzkins Barracuda Red and remounting the door panels. the arm rests and center console cover are getting black vinyl with red stitching, hopefully this week. i'm also having a shift boot made out of the Barracuda to replace the factory one.

so that's where we're at now. i'm hoping to have the interior pieces completed this week. my leather kit is yet to be ordered but it will have the Barracuda Red in it, as well, and the enclosures in the trunk will also have some. next step is to finish the skeletons in the trunk with the amp racks and get ready to stretch our fleece. Smile

nothing major, just an intake and probably the hondata reflash. probably getting a stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel eventually, as well as an exhaust kit. but my main goal is to get some new tunes right now. and it's the k20z3 in there.

Very true Mer. The thing people must realize is when it comes to custom work, its not high dollars, it is plenty of man or in your case woman hours of labor.

Cars looking good though...Hot pic of you working...Gotta love a woman that likes to dive into projects.....
