I am going to try to keep a log of my man cave project here.

I am using a little of that money I got to do my basement.

I have been pretty good at noty spending my bonus money so far.
This is what its gone to so far:

1 - DVD player installed in my vette today for $800 including player and install. (to watch disney princess movies)

2 - Bought a 96" screen and HD projector for the basement. Most likely we will be watching disney movies but maybe I will be able to watch a race or two on it. Very Happy

3 - Bought supplies to repaint my basement and make it my "Man Cave" including a table saw to build some shelves. I had one years ago but it was lost in moving somewhere.

4 - ordering my camper shell for the bee this weekend

So, I will try to get before and after pictures as I go along.

My goal which I know won't happen is to get all of the grand daughters stuff out of my basement. But we know who the boss is there.

My basement is 14' wide by 28' deep.

Sounds great - Hope you have fun with your project!

When I moved to IL., I specifically looked for a house with an unfinished basement. That was my winter project (that actually took almost a year). I had a blast. I helped my dad in the past with his projects and got to put my skills to the test. I put in a media room, 1/2 bath, bar and poker room with a killer gamming PC.

Wish you the best of luck and hope you have as much fun as I did!

We've finally got ours all built. Now comes the furnishing and decorations part.
It's getting there though.
Almost ready to mount the bumper from Da Beest on the wall and use it as a shelf.

well lets make this a man cave thread. post up.

I have no idea or plan for mine so it will not turn out as well as most because I am fashion challenged.

Please feel free to give me ideas or comments. We did get all the holes on the sheet rock covered last night and will start painting this evening.

I have a 3 year old helper who might slow me down a little. Very Happy

My grand daughter HELPED me out last night with the spackle. Very Happy

Being I'm a designer by trade, I layed the floor plan out in autocad.
We went with neutral colors. Two different shades of gray with a medium blue carpet. All trim is white as is the ceiling.
Plans for a bar are later on down the road.

good to hear. I bought my paint two days ago and its a dark grey for the bottom seperated by a chair rail and lighter grey on top.

I have crown molding, chair rail molding and base board that currently is white. I was thinking a nice bright red or stay white. Opinions please.

Good Luck John. I've been wanting to start my man cave for over a year now. I just haven't had the time, nor am I lucky as you to have the funding backup. I've got it all drawn up, just need to pull the trigger and get it done.
Post pics of your progress once you get it started.
