We always try to leave the vents in when we can. They help the air pressure escape when you go to close the doors. By blocking them off you are preventing the pressure from having a way out. You will probably notice that when you go to close the door you may not get it to close past the first latch unless you close the door a bit harder now. We run into this a bit in PB's truck even though we left them in because of the way the box sits. Not all trucks have it as bad as others.

So far so good.
My doors seem to shut normal just as they always have.
I was a bit worried prior to doing it.
I kept both vents in case I need to re-do it.

wait until you add sound deadener and put the box in there. it becomes very dense. Smile any progress pics?

Dense and heavy!! Wink

Make sure you post up pics....Always love to see the diff. stuff people do..... Cool

It's been a long day.
My fingers hurt.
And I ran out of Fatmat.
I also removed the back speakers and covered the holes.

I took my first picture at 9:30 am and my last at 7:30 pm.
I did take a lunch break but still worked all day.

You want some photos, here's some photos.

When I installed my stereo I took out both vents and sealed them up and took the 3rd seat belt out. Big mistake!! Everytime I turn on my air above the 1st setting my ears start going crazy. It is totally pressurized inside! the air escapes through the drivers side outside handle. Whenever my air is on I have to put my window down a bit to be able to stand to drive. I would put the vents back in if I were you. JMO. I guess its time for some window deflectors!!

Well, all is not keen in River City!

My new "molded" carpet won't fit!
Instead of crabbin' about that fact endlessly I will save that for later.
I gotta go back and finish putting the "OLD" carpet back in. Evil or Very Mad

Very nice deck

Im pretty partial to my Pioneer 7" Avic.N1......Have had very very good luck with it..been going strong for almost 7 yrs now.. And does everything....Damn thing was 2199.00 though back when it first hit the market.. I think it was there first 7' pop out screen. Went ahead and put a 7" visualogic monitor in my pass. visor and a gamecube in the middle console so my kid can watch dvd's and play vids.... still love it to this day...I wish the p3 was smaller and fit would love to upgrade to something that fit in the bottom middle compartment besides the gamecube......Again looks sweet the stereo install!! Good work guys!!

So far I love it.
Still learning how this thing works but it's pretty trick.
The yellow ring you see is the background that I set, you can pick the color of the ring or even make the whole face any color.
I can load photos to it and use them as the background, that's forthcoming.
The thing is also a DVD player set to play video while I drive.
The face is all touch screen and it senses when you are close to it and brings up the controls prior to touching it.
Here's a photo of the controls ...and you can move the controls around.
Ain't done that yet.

I'm also wanting to do some custom speakers amps and box behind my seats when I get back from Iraq. Have to be able to hear the music over the headers I ordered.

Hey, BTW ...thanks for serving. (I'm guessing you are in the service.) I hope you make it back soon and all in one piece.

Post some and we will try to keep you entertained.
