Well the Hemi Stall has reached out and grabbed my truck by the horns.
The truck has 68000miles on it with all new coils wires and plugs which were installed in May. (TB cleaned & new EGR in Aug)) The last couple of weeks I come to a stop at a light or sign and the truck stalls out. The truck revs up to 1200rpm's from 700rpm's and then gasps for air and dies. Then I have to throw it in neutral and restart. The truck is becoming unsafe to drive. I have been on the Net all day looking for a cure Crying or Very sad and haven't found a definite answer. If you type in 5.7 Hemi stalling you will come up with so many complaint and parts chasers it's boggling to the mind. If anyone has a fix for this please let us know what the fix was ....

sounds like you may need a computer flash...maybe do a reprogram with a superchip or predator? my truck only did it one time but it fixed itself.

Chris

I would start off simple and do a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. Try this and see if it resolves the issue.

If the stall still continues I would definitely take it to the dealership and have the PCM re-flashed as stated by Nick above. Also have them check your battery to make sure that you do not have a weak or faulty battery that could be contributing to the problem.

If you have a handheld tuner, you can do it yourself, just make sure the everything in the truck is shut off and the battery has plenty of charge.

Good Luck

Well I have been poking and prodding every service tech I could find an one of them gave this advice. He asked me if I had changed the tranny fluid and I told him yes. He asked me if the tranny fluid was full, I advised him yes it came to the full mark on the stick. He then told me to put a half a quart more in it and drive the truck and see if it dies at the stop signs. I did this and it just bearly surged a little. I then put some more fluid in and drove the truck hard and can to a stop. The rpms went down to 700rpms and stayed there. I have been beating myself up over this problem researching all over the place and it turns out to bee tranny fluid. I love my truck and she running great!!!! Simple fix Very Happy

I would be scared to go over the full mark on my trans stick, But if thats the fix it should help out quite a bit for all the guys with the stall problem.

Talked with a guy from a local transmission shop about the stall and adding more fluid. He told me that if the fluid is slightly low,the torque converter clutch stays applied when you come to a stop. Then it shudders and or stalls. He saaid just add fluid till the problem goes away just above full. He said Chrysler makes a ton of money off this problem!!! Hope this post helps someone...

Its funny how after so many years of people having stalling issues, the problem is really that the "full" mark on the trans fluid stick should just be moved up to compensate for an additional half a quart of oil being required.

Hmmm, I wonder if this could be my problem. Track hasn't stalled but it feels like it sputters at idle and very slow driving in low rpm range. If I get on it or drive highway I don't have any issues. It

hi all, some people swear that grounding the throtle body will cure bad idle and stalling and improve throtle response and shift firmer, i have not done this yet because my daytona runs great, so i will not give an opinion, but its cheap and quick, so give it a shot
