Dealership has the touch up paint. I can not remember the price though. As far as the door spears, mine turned brown too. I just took min off. Other than that you will have to repaint them.

Yep that is exactly what mine was doing. Honestly to repaint them it will not take hardly any time for a body shop to do. Between paint and labor they should not charge no more that $50-$75. They may even do it cheaper if you take them off because they would not have to tape off your truck to protect it from over spray.

The passenger side door spear on my truck is turning brown now Crying or Very sad
I priced out a can of the paint and clearcoat, but after shipping it comes to almost $50. Am i going about it wrong? Would it be cheaper to just take it to a body shop?
Like most here i keep it show quality clean and detailed so the brown edges just jump out at me. Shocked

ok so I forgot to take a before picture, but most of you know what the spears look like when they start to look like brown primer.

Here is the spray cans I used

After second coat of base color

After 4 coats of base color I started the clear coat

After 5 coats of clear and 3o minutes of drying

Truck just needs a good washing after it all dries up now.

I have painted a lot of things but never used spray cans before, and I am pretty impressed with the end result.

Came out great. Did it to mine recently, but my truck is silver. Hadn't painted them since the truck was made..

Funny, Anytime someone mentioned "Door Spears" I had been thinking they were talking about the inside trim piece that's yellow.

Where did you get this paint, and do you think it would hold up to underhood temps? Thinking of painting my engine cover and a few other plastic pieces.

Lol. Yea, i had no clue what they were called until i had to paint or replace them

I bought the paint at http://www.automotivetouchup.com/
the color match was perfect. I've seen quite a few chargers with painted engine covers and they seemed to hold up pretty well in the engine compartment.
