We'll be Cruising this year on Saturday, the Twenty Sixth of October.

Join us for a Leisurely Cruise North to South on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Valley, We'll be Meeting in Front Royal, Virginia, between 8 AM-9 AM on the 26th of October, Leaving our meeting point, at 9 AM, and proceeding south along Skyline Drive which offers some fantastic views of the Shenandoah Valley.

Cost: There is a $15 charge per car to enter the Park. I will probably NOT be picking up passes before we meet at the Super 8, depending on the number of people we have coming, and how many people that I don't know personally are coming, if we are a small group, we might as well just get them at the gate. Passes are good for 7 days, so if you arrive Friday, or stay thru Sunday, you'll only need one pass.

Map of the park:

http://www.nps.gov/common/commonspot/customcf/apps/maps/showmap.cfm?alphacode=shen&parkname=Shenandoah

We will stop at Big Meadows, approximately 50 Miles south of Front Royal for Lunch and Photo Opportunities. Bring Your Lunch! There is also an Aramark "Wayside" right at big meadows that offers some decent picnic type food, if you don't want to carry lunch with you.

Around 1:00 we will turn around and head back north. The trip back is more free form, with everyone moving at their own pace, so they can gawk at the overlooks in a more relaxed fashion. Debbie and I will probably hike a trail on the way back as well for any who might want to join us. Back in Front Royal we will meet back at the super 8, and head for TGI Friday's for dinner about 6:30 or 7:00, for those who wish to attend.

The Super 8 Motel in Front Royal still has rooms and is pretty close to the North Entrance (In Fact, we'll be in their parking lot as the meeting point...);

SUPER 8 MOTEL - FRONT ROYAL
111 South Street
Front Royal , Virginia 22630
United States
540-636-4888

If you book On Line at http://www.super8.com The rate is up this year, at $66.50. You may want to run thru some of the travel sites for the best rate. We strongly urge you to get your room reserved as soon as possible, as lodging around Skyline Drive is difficult to get in the fall, and rooms are usually all booked well before leaf peeping season starts, reservations can generally be canceled as late as 24 hours before coming with no fee, but make sure that is the case if you book the room thru anyone other than Super 8 itself.

If you are considering Camping in the park, you will need to check availability of sites (Reservations are required), For more information, goto http://www.recreation.gov/

For Tent and RV camping near the entrance, I've stayed at the campground below and will be this year too.

Front Royal RV Campground
P.O. Box 274, Front Royal, VA 22630
1-540-635-2741
http://www.frontroyalrvcampground.com
(They have spaces free right up to the date, so you shouldn't need a reservation)

If you have a set of public band Walkie Talkies, please bring them along, they are a tremendous help in keeping the cruise together!

Below is the attendee list for Skyline Drive 2013. I will bee updating this top message as users are added, so what you see here should always bee current up to the last 24 hours. If you are coming to the Cruise, Please post here with all the information shown in the table below. This year is all makes, so please include your year and make that you will be driving in the cruise, if we don't all know it already.

So guess who's back?!? It's been a long time, guys. Hope you've been
doing well.

Well, I hung the helmet up and sold the drag car last month, which now
gives me more free time to do other activities that I enjoy, such as the
Skyline Drive. I also have met a wonderful lady who is currently my
fiancée.

This being said, put me down for the following:

1 2005 Rumble Bee, two for dinner (Chuck & Tammy), Saturday only (no hotel room).

It'll be good to see you'all again Very Happy

Zuke, we're still gonna be there but Saturday only.
Looks like we won't be bringing the truck, we're having some mechanical issues with it.
See ya then my friend.

uh-oh, Truck Broke? Well it looks like we are gonna be really small.... My Niece (Debbie's Sistere's Daughter) had the bad taste to schedule her wedding on the same date, so Debbie, Tim & Rachel aren't going to make it either....
