I just got my bee this morning! Yellow 1573, second swarm. It needs some babying. This is going to be my retirement toy! Laughing

I've been out pressure washing the rims. Why anyone would take perfectly good factory rims with beautiful chrome or whatever they call it and spray them with black plastic goop is beyond me.

Welcome to the Hive! The reason for spraying the rims "BLACK" is to increase horsepower. The "BLACK" Bee's are faster than the "SLOWLAR YELLOW" ones and ever since 2004 "SLOWLAR YELLOW" Bee owners have been adding as much "BLACK" to their Bee's as possible. Wink

No need to thank me, we try to be as helpful as possible here on the .ORG.

Enjoy your Bee! Cool

When are you going to stop spreading that mis-information, Jim? Everyone knows that Yellow is lighter than Black (Takes a lot more and heavier pigments to make black paint!) Which makes yellow significantly faster!
